National Manufacturing Official and Congressman Presented Award Thursday

U.S. Department of Commerce Honors

Auburn’s CERONIX, Inc. for International Trade Work

Auburn, California:  The United States Department of Commerce presented Auburn, California-based CERONIX, Inc., with the Department’s prestigious “Certificate of Appreciation,” an award recognizing important accomplishments in global trade, to CERONIX, Inc. Founders Don and Kay Whitaker during an awards ceremony on Thursday, November 2, 2006.

U.S. Department of Commerce Assistant Secretary Al Frink and Congressman John Doolittle (R-Roseville) presented the Whitakers this award while visiting CERONIX, Inc.’s Corporate Offices in Auburn, Thursday morning at 10:00 am.  Following a tour of CERONIX, Inc.’s corporate headquarters and primary manufacturing facilities, meeting CERONIX, Inc. employees and viewing a technical product demonstration, the group briefly discussed CERONIX, Inc.’s successful efforts expanding the nation’s global trade opportunities –particularly highlighting the company’s recent accomplishment of creating new international trade opportunities with Russia.

Frink and Doolittle then presented the U.S. Department of Commerce “Certificate of Appreciation” to the Whitakers during a short, public ceremony.  This Department of Commerce award recognizes companies that are clients of the Commerce Department’s U.S. Commercial Service, and that use its services to export their products or open new foreign markets.

"America is selling more goods and services to more countries than any time in its history. I am pleased that CERONIX, Inc., rich in the tradition of our forefathers, is embracing globalization by exploring new export opportunities," said  Frink. "I also commend and encourage their innovation and look forward to watching their company prosper and expand."

Frink serves as the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Assistant Secretary for the Office of Manufacturing and Services (MAS), which is responsible for promoting and strengthening competitiveness for America’s manufacturing and service industries.  MAS does this by conducting economic and trade policy analysis, shaping U.S. trade policy, participating in trade negotiations, and evaluating the impact of regulatory policies on U.S. manufacturers and service industries.

“We are so proud and honored to have received this award from the Department of Commerce, and hosting Mr. Frink and Congressman Doolittle,” states Don Whitaker, CERONIX, Inc. Founder and Principal.  “We are particularly pleased that Congressman Doolittle was in attendance, because he was the first U.S. representative to help us establish a foreign trade zone in Auburn.  It’s because of this foreign trade zone that we can keep our manufacturing and technology in America, rather than moving it off-shore, and still remain competitive.  We are excited to continue and expand our American trade into foreign markets such as Russia, and are flattered that the Commerce Department and the Congressman have recognized these efforts.”

CERONIX, Inc., is the leading U.S. developer and manufacturer of custom color video displays and circuit boards.  The company manufacturers high-tech monitors that are used in gaming, lotteries, horse racing, bowling, automated score keeping, automotive diagnostics, amusement, point-of-sale, or anywhere there is a need for high resolution, superior performance and low maintenance video monitors.

CERONIX, Inc.’s primary operations take place in a 63,000 square foot state-of-the-art technological and manufacturing facility on 21 park-like acres, surrounded by mature oaks and rolling hills. And the majority of its manufacturing and business energy needs are met using solar energy.  CERONIX, Inc. invested over $3.6 million into solar silicon, photo-voltaic modules within its facilities, which generates over 400,000 watts of electricity for CERONIX, Inc. operations.
