CERONIX, Inc. – Thunder Valley Partnership
Helps Launch New LCD Line Internationally

A recent and flourishing local partnership has resulted in the profitable launch of a new international technology line.
Auburn-based CERONIX, Inc.rporated, has for over 20 years successfully manufactured a variety of custom-made, Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT) color video touch screen monitors for gaming industry video slot machines.
However, CERONIX, Inc. recently launched an entirely new line of Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD). Designed to be direct, “drop-in” replacements for existing CRT monitors, the new LCDs are more vibrant, weigh less, and require less power and expense to operate than traditional CRTs.

Still, CERONIX, Inc. is the first to admit that they didn’t launch this new line without considerable encouragement from an important, local customer.  Thunder Valley Casino (located near Lincoln) originally contacted CERONIX, Inc. requesting the as-yet undeveloped LCD line.

“We (originally) asked slot machine manufacturers to deliver new slot machines with flat screen LCDs instead of CRTs,” explained Bryan DeLugo, Thunder Valley Resort’s Director of Slot Operations.  “(But) we were told that it wasn’t possible to have LCDs in our new games.  So we contacted CERONIX, Inc..  CERONIX, Inc. immediately sent a couple of engineers here, and let us explain in detail what we wanted.  A few weeks later, they delivered a prototype.  It only required a few modifications, and then it worked as promised.”

“We were already in LCD research and development when we received Thunder Valley’s call,” admitted Sandi Viscuso, CERONIX, Inc. Operations Manager. “But there’s only so much you can do in the lab. It’s not until the LCD is actually in the game and on the casino floor that you can really test the display’s design, use and service needs. It was because of Thunder Valley’s invaluable feedback and continued suggestions that we made improvements to our bezel, and design changes for a better fit, among other things. “

Since those original conversations, Thunder Valley now features over 700 CERONIX, Inc. monitors on its floor. And CERONIX, Inc. now ships over 2,000 new LCDs per month to such exotic ports as Russia, Australia, South America and Slovenia – all thanks to a partnership between companies only about ten miles apart!
